Trinity Lutheran (Madison) Ladies Aid celebrates 100th Anniversary
The Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid, Madison, Nebraska, held their 100th Anniversary meeting with members of St. John Green Garden Ladies Aid.
In January 28, 1910, was the first meeting of the Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid with 11 members joined that day were Theresa Moehnert, Lena Ketelson, Katharine Schweitzer, Anna Zessin, Emma Huelle, Bertha Kamrath, Alvina Boysen, Martha Fuerst, Rose Kalmer, Olga Kaul, and Ida Hensick.
At the end of the first year of Ladies Aid there were 29 members. The meetings were held in the homes of Aid members.
In 1942, the Ladies Aid joined the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League of the Nebraska district as a Charter member. “Mighty Mites” are gathered every month for projects of the Northern Nebraska District and our International LWML.
Trinity Ladies Aid has continued with their hearts and hands to serve the Lord’s people with gladness.
At the present time the Ladies Aid have 11 active members with five honorary.
Many members from both Aids dressed up in vintage dresses, hats and jewelry. Ruth Oswald welcome the group with a prayer. The decoration was done in years gone by with lace tablecloths, glass snack sets, glass punch bowl and silver coffee service. Sixteen LWML banners that had been made through the years were on display.
